"We all knew we had a role to play… my kilt was to get women watching and Debs [Deborah Watling] was meant to get fathers out from the garden and in front of the television."

My heart breaks to learn that Deborah Watling passed this summer.
Deborah was a firecracker, a sassy lady (one of the few people I’ve seen put Frazier Hines in his place!), and truly one of the kindest people I’ve met through Doctor Who.
“Let’s take a picture!” - I will always remember her as in this photo of us from Chicago TARDIS 2014, taken Saturday night after talking over wine (always a dry house white for Deborah).
I take solace knowing she’s in heaven with her daddy and with Patrick Troughton, but it’s still a sad shock to know she’s gone.
gotta love how victoria, normally example number one of the “shrieking damsel” trope, was fully prepared to jump on a grown man she believed to be a murderous dictator and elbow-slam him in the neck
"Frazer was very protective, on set and off. Even now we’ll meet at a convention and he’ll say, ‘Awww, Little Debs,’ before giving me a cuddle. To which I’ll say, 'Fraze, I’m over 60 now, you can stop that!’"
