John Leeson on Voicing K-9 With Tom Baker

John Leeson would do the Times crossword puzzle from his headset with Tom Baker during down time on set. He thought they were just keeping busy between takes. Since he was voicing from far off, he didn’t realize there were a ton of locals watching the filming! But for all of the fans watching, it appeared as though The Doctor was completing the daily crossword with K-9.

I think I’d be slightly more concerned than the Doctor if K9 had said that to me

Okay, not to suddenly become the Fan Theorist type of Doctor Who fan, but I have a legitimate question:

Okay, not to suddenly become the Fan Theorist type of Doctor Who fan, but I have a legitimate question:

Seeing the various doctors next to each other gives you a far better idea of their unique heights and builds than just a list of their heights.  According to the Law of Conservation of Mass, matter cannot be created or destroyed, just changed. Considering there’s an explanation for everything in the Doctor Who universe, I would just like to know:

Does the Doctor always have the same amount of matter? Is it simply converted into different aspects? (Denser bones? More/less hair?) Or is extra matter expelled post-regeneration?  (I mean, look at Tom Baker vs. Sylvester McCoy. I know they weren’t back-to-back, but comparatively speaking, Sylvester is like a little shih tzu I could carry in my purse forever and ever.)

And if that was the case, how would larger doctors suddenly gain more matter for additional height/mass/etc.?

Am I overthinking things, or has this been previously discussed?
